MSI has officially launched the Crosshair A16 HX MLG Edition globally. This special edition gaming laptop boasts a striking all-white finish. Initially unveiled at this year's Computex, the high-end device is now available. Its most powerful configuration features an AMD Ryzen 9 processor paired with an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5070 Laptop GPU.
The MLG edition goes beyond a simple color change. MSI has developed a unique aesthetic centered around its new character, LOONG:NIA (MLG). Inspired by a dragon, this character embodies creativity, ambition, and the ability to overcome limitations. The laptop is available worldwide starting August 3rd, with specific configurations and pricing varying by region.
The MSI Crosshair A16 HX MLG Edition Can Be Equipped with Up to an AMD Ryzen 9 8940HX and a GeForce RTX 5070 Laptop
The top-tier configuration of the MSI Crosshair A16 HX MLG Edition includes an AMD Ryzen 9 8940HX processor. This CPU features 16 cores and 32 threads based on the Zen 4 architecture, capable of reaching a boost clock speed of 5.30 GHz. It also comes with a modest integrated AMD Radeon 610M graphics card with 128 Stream Processors, suitable for power saving during office tasks when the dedicated GPU is not needed.
For dedicated graphics, it sports the aforementioned NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5070 Laptop GPU with 12GB of GDDR7 memory. This variant supports a maximum power consumption of 115W with Dynamic Boost. The GPU excels in performance while minimizing power draw, leveraging technologies like NVIDIA DLSS 4.5 for frame generation. MSI also provides a dedicated graphics mode via a MUX switch, bypassing the integrated GPU for optimal performance.
Utilizing MSI OverBoost technology, the processor and graphics card can achieve a combined power draw of up to 190W. To manage the heat generated, MSI employs its Cooler Boost system, featuring a dual-fan configuration, five copper heat pipes, and four air vents. MSI has also implemented a phase-change thermal compound designed to enhance heat transfer and maintain stable performance during extended gaming or rendering sessions.
Additional Specifications for this Special Edition White Laptop
The MSI Crosshair A16 HX MLG Edition features a 16-inch IPS display with a QHD+ resolution of 2,560 x 1,600 pixels (16:10 aspect ratio) and a rapid 240Hz refresh rate. The panel covers 100% of the DCI-P3 color space, making it ideal not only for gaming but also for photo editing, video editing, and content creation, where accurate color reproduction is crucial.
For expandability, it supports up to 96GB of DDR5 memory across two SO-DIMM slots. It also includes two M.2 slots, one supporting PCIe 5.0 and the other PCIe 4.0. Connectivity options include Wi-Fi 6E, Gigabit Ethernet, HDMI 2.1, two USB-C ports with DisplayPort, three USB-A ports, Bluetooth, a combo audio jack, and Nahimic speakers.
Essentially, the MLG Edition is a variant of the standard MSI Crosshair A16 HX, but with the unique Stellar White finish. This finish boasts a pearlescent effect that displays reddish reflections depending on the light angle. It is further distinguished by a white keyboard with four-zone RGB LED backlighting, custom MLG logos, the Dragon Shield emblem, and red rubber feet. The package includes an MLG Edition mouse, headset, and an extended mousepad. Some regions will also receive a special box containing a limited edition figure of the LOONG:NIA character.
